Illuminated acrylic artist - Cecilia Kristoffersson
I am a Mother Artist - Not only a mother, but also inspired by my daughters to express love, resilience and compassion for their struggle, in a world so connected yet disconnected. Further pushing the boundries of what artistic expression can be. And most importantly, the Way of seeing in being a mother.

My work is a call for change, a gentle yet unyielding demand for a new way of being. We are living through a time of profound disconnection, where digital illusions and performative identities often take the place of genuine connection and truth. In this world of fragmentation and make-believe, our daughters are growing up surrounded by false mirrors. They are being shaped by forces that too often diminish their sense of worth. It is time for a new revolution, one that is quietly powerful. A revolution of remembering, of returning to what is real, embodied, and whole. My art is part of this revolution. Through painting, I reclaim a space of deep seeing, one that rejects distortion and affirms the spiritual and ancestral richness of the feminine experience. As mothers, we have an essential role in this transformation. We are not only caretakers of our daughters, but guardians of the world they will inherit. We must begin to dismantle the barriers, internal and external, that have kept us silent all this time.
Slow Looking
My art invites “slow looking”. According a study done by the Tate Gallery in the UK, visitors only spend around 8 seconds looking at each painting in a gallery, which is why the initiative of “slow looking” is a focus point in my art exhibition. Within my frames I have included a source of light, revealing what I call, the spirit of the painting. This ethereal realm of light asks you, the audience to sit for a while, to gaze, to stare, to pause, to de-stress and embrace the present moment as you watch how light interacts with the painted colours on the canvas changing the original image, from one to many.
My paintings are to be viewed as the sun starts to set, outdoors in a park or a garden, as the peaceful evening curtains the sky. Using the outdoors, a garden or park as my gallery space seems a fitting place to exhibit my Edenfield collection. As you sit, sipping your wine, in my outdoor gallery at night, allow the interplay of colour and light to illuminate your perceptions, connecting art to the natural world around you.
